Community Outreach

The members of the Austin Amateur Radio Club are an effective group in providing services back to the community through various events such as working the Capitol 10K, BP MS-150 and other events, or working with students through various school and scouting projects. We also recognize that there are other ways we can help our community other than providing communications where needed. The purpose of this page is to list some of these opportunities so you will be aware of them.

The Freedom Team Salute Program exists to recognize the enduring bond between Soldiers, family, Community, and Veterans. It celebrates the sacrifices made by those who support America’s Soldiers. Freedom Team Salute honors the millions of Army Veterans who have served and is a living connection to the ideals of duty, honor, and patriotism. Honor someone today.

Meals on Wheels

Meals on Wheels delivers meals to the elderly and indigent, many of whom would otherwise need to be institutionalized at taxpayers expense if it were not for this program. They are constantly in need of additional vol drivers to hold their expenses down, especially in the summer months coming up when many vols leave on vacation. it only takes about an hour per week to run a noon-time route on your chosen day.
