AUSTIN ARRL/VEC FCC EXAMINATIONS
Exams are held the first Saturday of each month when
possible. The exceptions are when there is a holiday
on that date or during that weekend and when the Belton
Swapfest happens to occur on the first weekend of
the month. Also, our August exams are held at the
Austin Summerfest convention location starting at
12:30 PM. Always check http://www.arrl.org/find-an-amateur-radio-license-exam-session
for the correct date and time for all of our exams.
Their information is always accurate.

From the intersection of U.S. Highway 183 and Anderson
Mill Road, turn west on Anderson Mill Road and go
to the first traffic light. Turn right onto the church
driveway and then take the first left turn from the
driveway. Go straight into the first parking area,
the handicapped parking portion of the lot. At the
sidewalk access point from the parking area, you will
see a billboard-type sign showing the layout of where
all the church buildings are. Park in an appropriate
parking area of the lot and then get on the sidewalk
next to the billboard. The church sanctuary will be
on your left. Go under the Damascus Gate sign and
straight on to the Disciple Building. Enter the Disciple
building and just to the left of the door are the
stairway to the second floor and an elevator for the
handicapped. Go up to the second floor and Room 213
will be to your right.
The processing and exams will start at 9:00 AM. The
examination fee is $15.00 payable in cash or by check
made out to ARRL/VEC. Get in touch with either Joe
Makeever or Joe Thiel if you have questions about
the process or paperwork or identifications that you
may need to provide. We will provide you with application
forms (NCVEC Form 605) or you can complete the PDF
form online and print it in advance.
